Damn I’m crap at this…

How much are you making from your adverts? Currently I’m using Adsense & I make… wait for it… about $0.10/week guess I’m not quite one of those adsense gurus huh? :D

On my demo site I get a tiny 1000 impressions/week (roughly) What do you make on 1000 impressions a week?

On this blog I don’t even know how many adsense impressions as I forgot to add a channel in my adsense account d’oh (gotta fix that sometime) however thanks to google analytics stats I know that I have around wait for it… 400 page views/month & that makes me a total of $0.00 from adsense yes that’s right zilch, zero, nada nothing… Why?

Is it simply because I have a crap amount of traffic (most likely), because all my visitors have ad blockers or are experienced surfers who just don’t see adverts anymore?

I like to think that my content is so interesting that people stick around to read them and no amount of adverts will tear them away from my highly interesting posts…

What do you think? What do you recommend? Come on, rub it in that you’re doing better then me with adsense. :P

If it makes you feel better I don’t know of anyone who has made any serious cash from Adsense.

As an advertiser on Adwords, there is an option you can set so that your ads don’t appear in Adsense - I always have this selected.

I make just about nothing from Adsense, but then again I’ve never put much effort into it either. I really think that the big money was made in Adsense when it started and no one knew what it was so everyone else clicked on the links to see what was going on.

Now I just think that everyone knows that the links are adverts and don’t click on them anymore.

This is why you/I/we need to blend the ads into the style of our sites as much as possible.

It doesn’t matter how many people come to your site. It depends on how many people click on the banner. That’s why it’s called Pay Per Click advertising.

Evan, I know this I was simply wondering if anyone had higher clickthrough rates compared to the amount of visitors? :)

I have been using Google ads for a year and a half, not only on my own sites, but at some sites I have built for others.

My current total is only at $20 so by that average, I will receive my $100 check from Google in… 6 years. lol
That type of advertising just isnt worth my webpage space anymore.
And I hardly see how Google says my impressions are at 91K when the first month of the old HaloKid sute (1 site-1month) which had Google ads in the header and the side panel, cleared over 200K page loads according to my stats.(oh, be the days of traffic)
You have to actuaaly trick people into clicking when using Google Ads and I dont want to do that like I see other sites performing.
In my opinion,Google ads arent worth it to me any longer.

No I think you’re right whilst some people may make a lot of bucks with adsense. I think the best way is to get people to advertise directly with your site rather then passing through a 3rd party (adsense, bidvertiser…) it’s more work but in the end it’s better for both the publisher & the advertiser :)
