Sorry about the delay

For those of you waiting for the phpBB3 integration mod or the update for the seo-pack, I’m sorry it’s taking so long but there’s a simple stupid reason to the delay.

99% of the time I cannot even connect to my own site (http or ftp), for some reason the only IP my ISP doesn’t let me connect to appears to be the one I’m hosted on. All Cirtex have to say is contact your ISP, so after not getting anywhere with either the ISP or the host I’m off to somewhere new.

I’m currently in the middle of setting up my new vps with jaguarpc.com & so far so good :) once this is all sorted out, things will get done a hundred times faster (ok maybe not a hundred but it’ll sure speed up).

A new look

I’m feeling creative so I’ll be redoing this site soon (if I have the time), I’ll also be completing it some more because as you may have noticed some of the pages are a bit bare…

Ooops forgot the blog

Happy new year to everyone (I know I’m late) things have been kinda busy lately so I haven’t been able to update my blog for a while.

Anyway here’s a quick run down on what’s happened since my last post.

  • Got christmas presents! A new phone & a laptop (well the laptop is on a loan but counts as a xmas pressie as I bought it 2 days before)
  • Played around with my new laptop (HP dv9500t) which is about 300 times faster then what I was on before.
  • Spent a few days trying to figure out vista :(
  • Spent some more time fixing vista… I don’t know if I’m unlucky or if Vista was released to early…
  • Finally got vista nearly setup how I wanted it
  • Started working on my nice new (now working) laptop!

And that’s about it really nothing special, I also finished some work on some client’s sites which I’ll probably post about later.

Help fight Famine without leaving your pc!

Something interesting I found whilst searching the web today. Test your vocabulary & help those in need whilst sitting on your pc isn’t that cool?

Freerice.com donates 10 grains of rice per correct answer, that may not seem like much but as the saying goes every little helps. And then if we all start doing it, them 10 grains of rice start multiplying :) What are you still doing here? Head on over there and start helping!

Securing your PHPmotion site

Please note this post was written for V1 it most likely will not work for more recent versions of PHPmotion. Make changes at your own risk and always keep backups!

Whilst my PHPmotion demo site is far from being a possible target for hackers some of you may have much busier web sites! Which also means you’re more at risk then me :P

And as the saying goes better safe then sorry I thought a quick safety post wouldn’t hurt anyone, now I’m no expert with security issues by any means however after looking around several other open source projects I noticed a few easy to do things which could help prevent an attack or at least make it harder for them ;)

Eeks what’s gone wrong?!

If you’ve been to my blog before you may have noticed a slight change of style…

BTW it’s work in progress! I’ve probably got some minor browser problems (you know I’m talking about you IE) to iron out and I may add some more bits here and there or even delete it all and start again (I’m fussy)

Question is what do you think? Is this better then what I had before?
