A debate seems to be taking place over on the official v3 thread (somewhere around pages 8-10) on PHPmotion’s forums. It would appear that valid code is not something that will be implemented into v3 at least not for the release anyway. Whilst I haven’t posted into that thread I thought I might post about it here instead.
Would you gain anything out of using a valid theme?
The short and simple answer is yes, you gain in every possible way over invalid source code. Valid code means generally cleaner code which the author checks in a tool like the W3 validator this tends to make the author more aware about their code and therefore write tidier more efficient layouts.
This means less code, better cross browser compatibility, easier to edit and also better search engine rankings (well maybe not every time but it may help). Not forgetting that you’d also be keeping to current web standards.
If any of you used v1 (yes that is a while back now) you may remember I released an “updated” version of the default theme. This helped many with their customisations as it provided them a valid base to work on, the question is would you want something similar for v3?
Anyway here’s a question for you until I’ve got some more information to share on a v3 theme :
When v3 is released do you plan on turning it into a profitable professional video website?

Interesting site you have. I’m currently working through some ideas for themes that I will release for v3. I’m hoping that they will all have a nice clean feel to them & they’ll also be very easy to edit so you can still personalize your website

Hi, i think you should make an seo-mod for v3,
i understand that it will be include as a core feature,
but many peoples including my self think that your seo-mod is more powerful and have a more options and features.
Ill be willing to pay 35euros for your seo-mod to be upgrade for v3.

Fab, I’ll think about it but I really don’t think there’s that much of a need for it. v3 is much improved although it’s seo is still less complete then the seo pack. I will make an update available so that no one loses their links though as upgrading from v2 to v3 will cause this.
