Securing your PHPmotion site

Please note this post was written for V1 it most likely will not work for more recent versions of PHPmotion. Make changes at your own risk and always keep backups!

Whilst my PHPmotion demo site is far from being a possible target for hackers some of you may have much busier web sites! Which also means you’re more at risk then me

And as the saying goes better safe then sorry I thought a quick safety post wouldn’t hurt anyone, now I’m no expert with security issues by any means however after looking around several other open source projects I noticed a few easy to do things which could help prevent an attack or at least make it harder for them

Eeks what’s gone wrong?!

If you’ve been to my blog before you may have noticed a slight change of style…

BTW it’s work in progress! I’ve probably got some minor browser problems (you know I’m talking about you IE) to iron out and I may add some more bits here and there or even delete it all and start again (I’m fussy)

Question is what do you think? Is this better then what I had before?

How much are you making from your adverts? Currently I’m using Adsense & I make… wait for it… about $0.10/week guess I’m not quite one of those adsense gurus huh?

On my demo site I get a tiny 1000 impressions/week (roughly) What do you make on 1000 impressions a week?

On this blog I don’t even know how many adsense impressions as I forgot to add a channel in my adsense account d’oh (gotta fix that sometime) however thanks to google analytics stats I know that I have around wait for it… 400 page views/month & that makes me a total of $0.00 from adsense yes that’s right zilch, zero, nada nothing… Why?

Is it simply because I have a crap amount of traffic (most likely), because all my visitors have ad blockers or are experienced surfers who just don’t see adverts anymore?

I like to think that my content is so interesting that people stick around to read them and no amount of adverts will tear them away from my highly interesting posts…

What do you think? What do you recommend? Come on, rub it in that you’re doing better then me with adsense.

Got unused domains?

Have you got old domains you’re not using? Silly question really, pretty much everyone has some.. A while back I found a domain parking site which pays more then the other SEDO, etc… domain parking sites.

How much more? Well my domains never get much traffic as they were never used at all on Sedo in about 3 months I made $0.30 that’s a lot isn’t it? I’ve been with this one for what 2 weeks & it’s turning over that EVERY day! Still not much but at least it helps cover the cost of buying the domains in the first place of course if you get quite a bit of traffic to your domains then this could make you a nice bit of income They also pay out twice a month!
